Updates as of April 14, 2020:
  • Quarter 4 (beginning Monday, April 27) will be ungraded; any student work "assigned" will be considered optional and will not be graded.
  • Quarter 3 ends Friday, April 24, 2020. All make-up assignments must be submitted by Tuesday, April 21.
  • As of April 14, 2020, we will be operating under a new instructional schedule (see Instructional Schedule, below)
  • There will be no Civics SOL Exam for 2019/2020 school year
  • Our learning will continue for the duration of the school year, online.
  • All learning activities and resources will be available on our Teams page. (Directions for accessing Teams can be found below.)
  • We will do our best to cover remaining material


Instructional Schedule:


Social Studies (that includes Civics) instruction will be held on Thursdays, from 8:30 to 10:00. During this time, students will work on a variety of activities - review; extension; virtual museum tours; topic-specific videos, games, and quizzes.


(Online) Office Hours: 

I am available for Parent/Student contact and support Tuesdays, from 1:30 to 3:00.

Directions for accessing Teams:
Students, log into your PWCS Office 365 with your Email account. Then, click on the waffle (top right corner), and select TEAMS. Your classes will be displayed in this window -- our class is GHMS-CE2019 - Pd x.

*Since we have been using Teams throughout the school year, I am confident that you will have no trouble accessing this program. If you do have trouble, please notify me immediately.


Announcements & Assignments:

  • All communication will be conducted through (1) this web page, (2) School Messenger, and (3) Teams postings.
  • Work assigned and due prior to March 12 will be graded.
  • Some work assigned and due prior to March 12 may be redone and regraded. Please email me about make-up work or corrections to submit.
  • Due dates for work assigned prior to March 12 are extended to April 21.

In the days to come, we will have more information about how online instruction will be conducted. I will update this page to reflect these directives.
