By order of the Governor of Virginia, all Prince William County Public Schools will remain closed to students through the end of the 2019-2020 school year (June 2020), due to the health concerns caused by COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Although PWCS is unable to provide instruction or class assignments to students while schools remain closed, our School Division hopes that the suggestions for optional learning activities posted here will help parents support student learning until schools re-open. Please remember that use of these materials and participation in these activities are optional and neither grades nor course credit will be awarded.

During this unpredictable time, please know that I’m praying for the safety of you and your families. I’m grateful for the technology that allows us to stay connected but I truly miss our social interactions. We will be using to have video conferences. If you haven’t done so already, please download this app. I will send weekly emails to remind you of our meeting dates and times. If you have any questions or concerns, please email, text, or call me.

  • READ for 30 minutes a day. You don’t have to read all at once. You can break it up in intervals- read for ten minutes, three times a day. It can be a book, an online article, a newspaper (if you’re like me, you still read those), or a magazine. It doesn’t matter as long as you’re reading! This is one of the best ways to keep your mind stimulated and to become a stronger reader.

  • WRITE.  We are living in an unforgettable period of time. Use this time to journal so that one day you can reflect on what was accuring in your daily lives. Writing can be therapeutic and very helpful during this time of social isolation. Journal about your thoughts, observations, questions and concerns you may have. If you need help with a writing prompt, please text me.

Parents, please email with any questions or conerns you may have. I remain devoted to teaching students during this time.
