Class Description: 7th Grade Language Arts

Distance Learning Update: Updated 4/15/2020

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and healthy. Due to school closures we will be conducting our distance learning through Office Teams. At this time the county is saying that we are not grading any assignments and that we should not be stressing about them.Virtual learning and office hours are listed further down the page. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Office 365:

All students have access to Office 365 through the county. First, they log in at https://www.office.com, then they click the blue icon that says Teams. From here they will be able to access all of their classes. My class should be the one that says GHMS-Holsopple, or it says Language Arts. When they click that team page, they will be able to access class materials via their class notebooks. I will be periodically posting assignments as well as lesson materials. Like me, I am sure that this is the first time using Office Teams for many of you. We will learn how to use this together.

Study Island

Right now there are several review assignments in Study Island that students can access should they desire to do any practice.

Useful Links

I have posted some links on this page under the Useful Links tab. They are some good resources for practicing standards taught.

Makeup Work

I have posted all the assignments from Quarter 3 on Microsoft Teams and under the files tab on this page. Students can complete any work they are missing and submit it to me via email. They may also redo any assignments. The quarter ends 4/24/2020.

Virtual Teaching Days/Office Hours

Class will be held virtually every Monday from 8:30 to 10:00 AM. Links will be provided through Office Teams so as to protect the privacy of our students. Our first virtual lesson will be held on Monday, 4/20/2020. My office hours are held every Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:30 PM. During this time parents and students may contact me via email or Teams chat with any questions they may have about content or any other school related questions. If you wish to contact me outside of this designated time, I will still respond in a timely manner. Please, do not hesitate to reach out.
