I hope you are all staying active and healthy.  

Update as of April 24, 2020:
Choose 1 activity to participate in for at lease 15 minutes.  Please respond to me in e-mail about the activity.  In the e-mail tell me which activity you chose, how it made you feel (more than "good or bad"), would you do it again.  

 -Go for a mindfulness walk.  Silent walk focusing on your breathing and nature around you.
-Make a playlist of relaxing music to listen to
-Practice breathing technique inhale for 4 seconds, hold 4 seconds, exhale 4 seconds

Update as of April 17, 2020:  
Activity for this week is doing mindfulness meditation and then warm ups.  Find a place inside where it is quiet and you can be alone for about 10 minutes.  If you can, youtube has some great videos (mindfulness meditation for kids).  If no internet, take ten minutes to lay down, sorry no pillows, and close your eyes.  Take deep breaths, 4 second inhale and 4 second exhale.  After 10 minutes of mindfulness meditation, you can slowly work your way into our warm up stretches. Hold each stretch for 15 seconds.

Push ups (knees are fine)
Curl ups

Alternate 30 seconds of jumping jacks, 30 seconds jog in place, 30 second break.  Repeat this 3 times for 4 minutes and 30 seconds of light cardiovascular exercise.  

Please e-mail me with a few sentences of how you have been staying physically active though out this time at home.  

Update as of April 15, 2020 :
My office hours are now from 1:30 to 3:00 on Wednesday.  I will be on the computer to answer e-mails that you may have.  I also check my e-mail at various times throughout the day during the week.  Also, on Friday's is a designated PE time from 8:30 to 10:00.  At this time you can do various activities such as exercise, meditate, or read about anything health related.  I will post more about this soon.  I have activated my Microsoft teams also.  Nothing posted yet.  Grades for 3rd quarter will be updated this week.

Updates as of April 1, 2020:  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic PWCS schools buildings are closed the remainder of the school year. As of now we are continuing our learning online. All new assignments given during this time until April 14th will be OPTIONAL.  I know many parents and students are concerned about grades, if you would like to do make up assignments for missing work or to raise your grade please contact me directly via email. I will be entering the grades for Jump Rope assessment, Drug Abuse Poster, and Fitness assessment later this week. 

Online Office Hours: 1 - 3 PM I will check e-mails periodically through out the day as well.

Directions for accessing class information:

  • Teams or SLMS  (Students and parents access SLMS by logging into the Student/Parent login at the top of the Hampton webpage.  Students use their computer login/password, Parents use their ParentVUE login/password.
