What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success.

How is Hampton using PBIS?
At Hampton the program is best broken down as a 2 part system.

Part 1: Positive Behavior: Getting and keeping students on the right track
-Rewarding students for doing the right thing
-Incentivizing students to do the right thing

For 2018-2019 we have changed our rewards process.  This year students can earn Bonus Busks. These Bucks can be used to gain entry in events, activities, drawing, and other special activities.

Part 2: Interventions and Support: Getting students back on track and ready for success
Part 2 is for students with academic and/or behavioral concerns.  The goal of part 2 it to provide support for students who need it in academics and/or conduct.

If a student is in need of help, a Tier 2 intervention meeting is scheduled.  The students teachers, guidance counselor, parent, and others needed parties will meet to discuss the concern and formulate a plan moving forward to get the student back on track.  The student will be monitored for a period of time and the reevaluated.  If not intervention is needed it is scheduled.  If the student has corrected the concern they will return to Tier 1 with no monitoring.
